The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday launched a sweeping multi-state crackdown into an alleged Pakistan-linked terror conspiracy involving cross-border drone deliveries of weapons, explosives, and ammunition intended for coordinated attacks across India.

The agency carried out searches at 12 locations spread across Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar and Maharashtra as part of its investigation into a network allegedly connected to Pakistani operative Jasvir Chaudhary and his associates.

Officials said the probe centres around the suspected smuggling of a large cache of arms, ammunition and Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) through drone drops routed across the Indo-Pakistan border. Investigators believe the consignments were meant to support planned terror strikes targeting Punjab, Delhi, and several other regions of the country.

Multi-state anti-terror sweep

According to officials, the NIA teams simultaneously raided five locations in Uttar Pradesh, two in Rajasthan, two in Bihar and three in Maharashtra. The searches focused on premises linked to individuals suspected of facilitating logistics, shelter, communication channels and movement of illegal consignments tied to the conspiracy.

The operation is part of a wider effort to dismantle emerging cross-border terror supply chains increasingly relying on drones for covert movement of weapons and explosive materials into India.

Investigators suspect that the accused used drone corridors operating near the Indo-Pakistan border to receive consignments containing firearms, ammunition and explosive components.

Officials said the network allegedly functioned through a coordinated chain involving handlers, local operatives and delivery contacts positioned across multiple states.

The agency is now examining whether additional sleeper modules or support networks were activated to aid the transportation and concealment of the recovered materials.

Planned attacks across India

Officials said preliminary findings indicate that the accused intended to carry out blasts at multiple locations with the objective of causing extensive damage to life and property.

Punjab and Delhi were among the key locations allegedly under the radar of the conspiracy, though investigators believe the operational footprint of the network may have extended further.

Security agencies are also examining possible links between the suspects and foreign-based terror handlers.

Investigation widens

The NIA is currently analysing material seized during the raids, including digital devices, documents and communication records recovered from different locations.

Officials indicated that further searches and questioning may follow as the agency pieces together the operational structure, financing pattern and cross-border links behind the alleged terror plot.

More details are expected as the investigation progresses.
